Brighton & Hove Albion maintained their excellent start to the new Premier League season on Saturday, winning 2-0 away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The result was achieved the hard way. Brighton had to play much of the second half with ten men after Pascal Struijk was shown a red card, a decision that was described as controversial.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Brighton kept Sunderland off the scoresheet entirely, closing out a clean sheet alongside the two goals that secured the three points at the Stadium of Light.
