East Fife have sacked veteran manager Dick Campbell after a run of eight League One games without a victory and a failure to progress in the KDM Evolution Trophy. The 72-year-old had been in charge at New Bayview since February 2024, following long spells with Arbroath and Forfar Athletic.
East Fife are seventh in League One after one win from 10 games. Their old Challenge Cup involvement ended with Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Lowland League side Cumbernauld Colts. In a statement, the club described the latest defeat as “a financial blow at a time when the club has invested a record amount in players over the past two seasons”.
Campbell’s managerial career has also included spells at Dunfermline Athletic, Brechin City, Partick Thistle and Ross County. His time at East Fife included promotion through the 2025 play-offs, the seventh promotion of his career. His brother Ian is also leaving, along with fellow coaches Stuart Malcolm and John Young.
Dumbarton have appointed former St Mirren and Clyde boss Danny Lennon on an interim basis after the departure of Frank McKeown. Dumbarton sit sixth in League Two and have also exited the KDM Evolution Trophy, following a 4-0 defeat at Clydebank.
Lennon, who became Dumbarton’s director of football in September, failed to win during an eight-game period in charge at Airdrieonians in the Championship last season.
