FC Cincinnati have signed former Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia on a free transfer. The 27-year-old Netherlands international left Old Trafford at the end of last season and has now joined the Major League Soccer club.
Malacia has agreed a deal that runs until next June, with Cincinnati holding an option to extend it for the 2027-28 season. He arrives in MLS after a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven in 2024-25, during which he helped the Dutch club win the Eredivisie.
His time at United was hit by injuries, but he made 50 appearances for the 20-time English champions after joining from Feyenoord in 2022.
Cincinnati general manager Chris Albright said: “We are excited to add a player of Tyrell’s experience. He’s played at the highest levels of the game and understands the demands of competing in those environments. His quality on the ball, defensive instincts, and team-first mentality is a welcome addition to the group and we’re happy to have him in Cincinnati.”
