BBC Scotland asks Tartan Army to send in their Boston World Cup memories

BBC Scotland has issued an appeal to Scotland supporters to send in their videos, audio and pictures from Boston, where the national team played its first two World Cup group games. Thousands of Tartan Army followers descended on the city during the tournament, and the appeal states that a relationship which will last well beyond the World Cup was born there.

The submissions will be used to make a programme about the lifelong bonds and friendships formed in Massachusetts, told from the perspective of both Scotland fans and Bostonians. The callout, titled “Scotland in Boston: World Cup 26′”, invites supporters to contribute through a submission form, and describes a magical week or so in Boston as the starting point for the story it wants to tell.

It is not the first time BBC Scotland has built a programme around material sent in by supporters. Fan footage was previously used for “Through the Eyes of the Fans: Scotland v Denmark”, which captured the memories of Scotland’s World Cup qualification-clinching 4-2 win over Denmark.

The appeal was published on 17 August 2026 and updated the same day.
