Arsenal host Leeds United in the Premier League at the Emirates, with kick-off at 12.30pm BST. Paul Tierney takes charge of the match, assisted by Richard West and Steve Meredith. Oliver Langford is the fourth official, with Tony Harrington on VAR and Nick Greenhalgh as his assistant.
Leeds arrive with Daniel Farke in the dugout, and it was the improvement his own team has shown that occupied his pre-match press conference. The Leeds head coach was one of several top-flight managers who chose not to offer his thoughts on the Manchester City verdict when he faced reporters, but he was willing to discuss his side’s recent progress.
Farke pointed to the numbers behind that run. “It’s not coincidence that in the last 10-11 months we are the fifth best team in the Premier League in terms of points,” he said. “We haven’t won the lottery to be in fifth, it’s not coincidence that we are unbeaten after a very impressive start to the Premier League.”
Leeds sit fifth in the Premier League table after five games. Farke also noted that the only time he had faced Manchester City during the years they have been found guilty of financial shenanigans, he was in charge of a Norwich City side that won.
