Dyche open to Celtic approach as Jota steps up return in Scottish football gossip

The gossip around Celtic’s managerial situation includes the suggestion that a Premier League manager would be interested if the club require a mid-season change. Sean Dyche is named as someone who would seriously consider becoming the next Celtic manager if an offer is tabled. The former Burnley, Everton and Nottingham Forest boss is the subject of speculation rather than a confirmed approach.

Celtic winger Jota took another step in his recovery from an ACL injury by playing 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors match against Falkirk yesterday. The outing comes after 18 months out.

Meanwhile, winger Sebastian Tounekti has returned to Celtic earlier than expected. Tunisia cancelled a friendly with Mali at short notice, allowing Tounekti to come back sooner than planned.

At Hibernian, new manager Marink Reedijk has described the work his players have done at a Spanish training camp as a “pre-season on steroids”.

Vicko Sevelj has explained his move to Neftci, saying he “left on a good note”. He added that the switch was a great deal for him and Dundee United.

Elsewhere, 21-year-old TNS left-back Zach Nolan is attracting attention. English League One, League Two and Scottish Premiership clubs are plotting moves to sign him.
