Erling Haaland’s Rise: From Molde to Manchester City

Erling Haaland began his senior career at Molde in Norway, where his father, former Premier League player Alfie Haaland, had also played. A move to Austrian club RB Salzburg in 2019 raised his profile further, before Borussia Dortmund signed him in January 2020, where his goal-scoring record in the Bundesliga and Champions League made him one of European football’s most talked-about young forwards.

Arrival in the Premier League

Manchester City signed Haaland in the summer of 2022, and his first season in England set new scoring benchmarks for a debut Premier League campaign. His combination of physical power, movement and finishing quickly established him as one of the league’s most feared strikers, and a central figure in Manchester City’s continued success under Pep Guardiola.
