Hibs managerial search widens as Celtic and Rangers eye Arsenal teenager Dowman

Hibernian’s search for a new manager has produced a fresh set of names, with Michel Kniat and Vesa Vasara understood to be among those being considered for the vacancy. Kniat is a former Arminia Bielefeld boss, while Vasara is currently in charge at Finnish side Inter Turku.

Another candidate is Marink Reedijk, the ex-Beveren head coach, who is keen on the Hibs job. Shamrock Rovers head coach Stephen Bradley would also be available without compensation should Hibernian decide to pursue the Irishman.

At Hearts, head coach Wouter Vrancken will take a break in his Belgian homeland before returning for some rigorous training with his side.

Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson hopes to sign defender Gavin Molloy, 24, up on a new deal.

Rangers have seen defender Clinton Nsiala leave the club for Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates. The 22-year-old Frenchman has signed a two-year deal, with Rangers receiving a £300,000 fee.

Celtic and Rangers are among a long list of clubs keen on a January loan move for Arsenal midfielder Max Dowman, who turns 17 on 31 December.

Celtic ‘meant everything’ to Andy Robertson, but being released by the club was the best thing that could have happened to him, believes the Scotland captain.

New head coach Sebastien Pocognoli says ‘the bar is very high’ because of Scotland’s ‘heritage’.
