Manchester United and Liverpool eye Adrien Truffert as Arsenal close in on new Martin Odegaard deal

Manchester United are expected to face serious competition from Liverpool for Bournemouth and France left-back Adrien Truffert. The 24-year-old is valued at about £60m, and both clubs are eyeing a move for him in the latest round of transfer reports.

Barcelona are tracking Arthur Dias, the 19-year-old defender who plays for Brazil and Athletico Paranaense. The Catalan club’s interest follows an £18m bid for the player that Tottenham had previously made.

Newcastle United are favourites to beat Nottingham Forest to the signing of Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton. The 23-year-old is impressing in France after leaving Liverpool last year.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are all monitoring England defender Jarell Quansah, who continues to impress for Bayer Leverkusen at the age of 23.

At Arsenal, captain Martin Odegaard is expected to join manager Mikel Arteta in signing a new long-term contract at the Emirates. The 27-year-old’s anticipated deal comes as the Gunners prepare a fresh attempt to lure Julian Alvarez to north London in January, with the Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker, 26, now seriously considering a move to the club.

Elsewhere, Dani Carvajal remains a free agent after the 34-year-old former Real Madrid full-back’s move to Getafe collapsed. In Germany, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both keen on Tottenham youngster Luca Williams-Barnett, who made his Spurs debut at the age of 16.
