Manchester United are selling pieces of the Old Trafford pitch for £125 each. The first batch put on sale has already sold out, and the initiative was announced on the same day the club reported that its overall debt remains more than £1bn.
The club’s accounts showed record revenue of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m for 2025-26, but also a pre-tax loss of £43m. United additionally confirmed that £63.5m had been spent on buying land for the team’s new stadium, a project expected to cost more than £2bn in total.
The turf being sold comes from a pitch that was dug up this summer for the first time in 14 years and stripped back to its foundation. Sections of the playing surface were preserved, with pieces measuring 7x7cm placed inside glass cubes, which are presented within a black case.
United have played at Old Trafford since 1910, and the 13-time Premier League champions are framing the cubes as a way for supporters to own a part of that history. The club website describes them as a “priceless memento of iconic games played at home and keeps the memories of matchdays alive”.
